The Hawaiian Islands are one of the most unique places on earth with exciting native species and impactful introduced species playing vital roles in the biological profile.  This book was written when we were doing research in the islands.  There is a wonderful short history of the geology and biology of Hawaii;  this was the only field guide to the mammals that live on the island.
